The route continues between the road and the ferries crossing the Pumalín Park until reaching Chaitén, where you can go trekking to the Chaitén Volcano or fly fishing in Lake Yelcho.

Alto Palena

Alto Palena is inserted in Chilean Patagonia, 360 kilometers from Puerto Montt on the Carretera Austral.

Futaleufú
Futaleufú is one of the most outstanding places on the Carretera Austral! It is recognized worldwide for the speed of the river waters, being a perfect place for rafting. You can also do trekking in the Futaleufú National Reserve and in the northern sector. In the town you will find places of accommodation and tourist services for various excursions.
From Puerto Montt then arrive at Caleta La Arena to take a 30-minute ferry. Continue by land until you reach Hornopirén, then take a 4-hour ferry to Leptepu. Continue a stretch by land to Long Fjord and then a 20-minute ferry to get to Caleta Gonzalo, and from there an hour by land to reach Chaitén.

Caleta Gonzalo is one of the must-see places in the Pumalín Park! It is located on the seafront and has camping areas, cabins, and a restaurant with tourist information to get to know all its surroundings. A paradise for nature lovers! A place of conservation and protection of the environment.
On the Austral Highway to Hornopirén, located 110 kilometers south of Puerto Montt. From there, you can take a ferry that will take you to Caleta Gonzalo.

Do you like sport fishing and who plan your next experience? Yelcho Lake is a suitable place for this. In its turquoise waters you can find various species of fish such as rainbow and fary trout, chinook, coho and Atlantic salmon. You can also go trekking and horseback riding in the surroundings.

From Puerto Montt take Route 7 towards Seno de Reloncaví, where you take a ferry from Caleta La Arena to Caleta Puelche that will take you to Hornopirén. There, you continue on another ferry that, on a five-hour trip, will take you to Caleta Gonzalo, 56 kilometers from Chaitén.
